When performing multiple-stage FHF several proppant stages are injected at the same target interval. The first stage is performed with planning overflush, and the final stage is being injected with underflush and proppant bootleg in the wellbore. The goal of multiple-stage FHF is that after the first stage injection bottom-hole formation zone stresses are being relocated, and the following crack changes its advance azimuth. Candidate wells for such works have a restriction on cracks growth in height at the most suitable tonnages of the frac sand. Among the positive effects, it is worth highlighting the increase in production enhancement and the longer-term effect of FHF fracturing.
